Request to Charity Commissioners in Great Britain to investigate fund raising activities linked to Mongol horse race

The Charity Commission of England & Wales, and the Scottish Charity Regulator, have been asked to investigate how funds have been raised and distributed by the Adventurists tour company and the Mercy Corps.

Though the public have been told that the race participants were collectively “volunteering” £25,000, in fact Mercy Corps appears to have  received this money from the race organizers in exchange for providing access to 800 horses and twenty-five Mongolian herder families.

It is vitally important that the public’s trust in socially responsible investments include support for those projects which are transparent and whose officers are accountable.
