Missing in Action Long Riders

The Long Riders’ Guild has been alerted to a “missing in action” North American equestrian traveller named Mick Thompson. According to details provided to The Guild, Thompson began his journey in June, 2005 when he and his horse, Hawkeye, set off to ride from Montana to Maine – the long way. With the help of their dog-pal, Yogi, the threesome have made a giant loop around the United States travelled through a variety of states including Oregon, Wyoming, Idaho, Colorado and Oklahoma. Thompson is riding to raise money for “Feed the Children,” a worthy charity which previously worked with North American Long Rider Doc Mishler. Mick, Hawkeye and Yogi are now believed to be in Tennessee.

We are also attempting to find information regarding three Historical “Missing in Action” Long Riders.

Albert & Louis Bauer appear to have attempted to ride from Buffalo, New York to South America. No year or information is known about this journey.

Finally, The Guild has uncovered photographic evidence indicating that German Long Rider August Barke may have ridden from Europe to Central Asia in 1928.
