The Long Riders' Guild

Who has been notified regarding this international investigation ?

In a letter dated 7th November, 2005, The Long Riders’ Guild asked the 3M Corporation to issue a public warning to equestrian editors worldwide.

The Guild believed it was important for equestrian editors to notify their readers that horse owners may have been misled into believing that the “Safety-Walk Wet Area Matting 1500” was an approved equestrian product.

“While The Guild will not ask 3M to admit to any willful wrong-doing, the safety of tens of thousands of horses clearly indicates the need for your corporation to inform these well-placed editors that a 3M product is being mistakenly used as a saddle pad.”

After waiting ninety days in vain for an acknowledgement from 3M regarding this urgent request, The Long Riders’ Guild has sent copies of all the documents, photos, web site details, correspondence, interviews, and an actual sample of the Wet Area Matting 1500 supplied to an equestrian traveller as a “saddle pad,” to the following editors and legal authorities.

The Long Riders’ Guild would urge our readers to contact their local equestrian magazines to discuss this important information with the appropriate editor and ensure that this vital information is shared with the global equestrian community.
