Gypsy Queen’s Journey across America

Frank Heath was a former U.S. cavalryman whose dream was to ride to all parts of the United States. He set out in 1925 on Gypsy Queen.

In 1927 Frank and his Morgan mare finally reached the Mile Marker erected outside the White House in Washington DC.

At the conclusion of the journey, Frank wrote an important book entitled Forty Million Hoof Beats. It recounts how he rode more than 18,000 kilometres (11,000 miles) to all 48 states.
