The Long Riders' Guild

Travelling Across Tibet

New Zealand Long Rider Ian Robinson has made solo journeys across Mongolia and through Afghanistan’s Wakhan Corridor. But the ride he made across Tibet in 2002 was unprecedented.
After the death of his spiritual advisor, Ian Robinson vowed to deliver his ashes to Mount Kailas, Tibet's most sacred mountain. However the Chinese communist authorities objected. They arrested Ian, but he escaped and fled across Tibet on horseback. His amazing story, Journey to the Centre of the Universe, recounts that adventure.
