Senior Long Rider Janine
Wilder is planning a Long Ride from |
Janine Wilder, the author of "Trail Riding," is planning to ride the historic trail of the Abernathy Boys and Two Gun Nan.
After visiting the Abernathy Boys Memorial and Museum in Franklin, Oklahoma this past September and a discussion with the O’Reillys, Janine decided to drive the historic route from Lincoln, Nebraska to her home is Nampa, Idaho. Along the way she talked to numerous people about the possibilities of a Long Ride by herself - the excitement grew into the actual planning stage for the ride which will commence in the early Spring of 2010 as she travels the 1200 miles. She will follow the hoof prints of the Abernathy Boys, who rode from New York to San Francisco in 1910 in 62 days, and that of the historic ride of Two Gun Nan, the first woman to ride across the United States in 1910.
