Campfires Against Cancer:
Dan Phegan, Ian James, Yola Cox and Colin Mitchell
are riding from Darwin to Corryong in Australia

Dan, Ian, Yola and Colin set out from Darwin in June 2002 on a horse ride/cattle drive across Australia (the route can be seen left).

The trip will take approximately 10 months and its primary objective is to raise funds for cancer research.

Dan and Ian, and their support crew, will be travelling through major outback centres such as Mount Isa, Longreach, Charleville and then reaching Tamworth for the week of the country music festival in January 2003.  They will then make their way inland NSW and down to Victoria to reach their  final destination  - Corryong - to coincide with the opening of “The Man From Snowy River Bush Festival”. The festival will highlight the end of their ride.

Why are they doing this?

Both Ian and Dan have lost close friends and relatives to different forms of cancer, and are continually inspired by the courage of those that are fighting to beat the disease.
