The Long Riders' Guild

The following email recently arrived  in The Long Riders' Guild Inbox:

I'm planning on traveling the length of the PCT starting in Campo, California and heading north until the trail ends in Canada.  This is roughly 2,650 miles.  I hope to leave in June '09 and finish in October.  I hope to take a pack animal with me for I don't plan to ride. 

The Long Riders' Guild is, as its name suggests, an organisation for Long RIDERS.  Several years ago, however, in order to support our travelling "cousins," we created a page for people travelling with wagons, as they have no organisation of their own, and as they face the same problems as people on horseback:  finding feed, water, farriers etc.

We are including Hans Hlawaty's journey here for the same reason:  we are unaware of any association for people walking with equines.  Hans will not qualify to be a Member of The Guild at the end of his journey, but we are pleased to support him by giving him this page on The Guild's website.
